Research Overview
The Ciara M Murphy Lab is a research group within the Tissue Engineering Research Group (TERG) of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), in the heart of Dublin city. The group focuses on the development of cell and biomaterial-based therapies for bone defects.
Targeted therapies
Targeted therapeutical agents have the potential to lead to the repair or regeneration of several tissues, including bone.
Biomaterial-based disease models
In order to accurately predict the success of therapeutic agents, reliable and complex disease models that approximate in vivo scenarios are required.
Cellular biology in disease
Understanding the changes in cellular biology within a pathological context allows for more direct and successful therapy development.
